Mustard seed (Semen Sinapis) is the herb that is most widely used in modern herbal medicine and folk medicine. There are 5 types of mustard in Bulgaria: white mustard, black mustard, field mustard, Sarepta mustard and the so-called white (wild) turnip.
Ground mustard seeds are extremely useful for human health. Small seeds contain Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids, calcium, phosphorus, manganese, calcium and others.
In medicine, mustard seeds are used for colds and as an appetite stimulant that enhances the secretion of gastric juice. It also has anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties.
