Amaranth flour is a gluten-free flour with a characteristic nutty taste, a pleasant aroma and a rich nutritional composition. It is used for baked goods - alone or as an additive to wheat flour and for thickening soups, sauces and stews.
Amaranth flour is obtained by grinding the seeds of the plant into a fine powder. It is suitable for preparing gluten-free unleavened flat breads and pancakes. When used for baking with leavening agent, it should be in combination with other flours, and can replace up to 25 percent of the gluten flours. Amaranth has a pleasant nutty taste and is high in fiber, minerals, and amino acids. It combines well with almond, coconut, sesame flour.
Amaranth flour absorbs a large amount of liquid and can therefore be used as a thickener in soups, sauces and stews.
Usage:
Bread - gluten free
For baking - alone or as an additive to wheat and other flours.
For thickening soups, sauces, stews.
