Recipes for delicious smoothies with turmeric
The spice turmeric is ginger family and is widely used in curries and other Indian dishes. It gained increased popularity as a 'superfood' in recent years. The active substance known as curcumin, is a potent antioxidant that can fight bacterial, viral and fungal infections and to reduce the risk of serious diseases such as cancer and even Alzheimer's disease. In addition, it is also a potent anti-inflammatory agent. Not everyone is fond of curry, however. So below are four recipes for smoothies containing turmeric.
Tropical smoothie with turmeric
Combine one cup coconut milk, half a cup frozen pineapple chunks, one fresh banana, a tablespoon of coconut oil, one teaspoon of turmeric, one teaspoon cinnamon and half a teaspoon of ginger and one teaspoon of chia seeds. Grind it in a blender and enjoy. This smoothie tastes like spicy piña colada, but is loaded with fiber, vitamins and minerals from fruits and chia seeds, and there are a number of health properties.
Shake with turmeric "Green Goddess"
Mix one teaspoon turmeric, ½ cup celery, ½ cup cucumber, half a teaspoon of ginger and add a little lemon juice. Run the blender until the mixture becomes smooth. This delicious drink is an antioxidant and vegetables add fiber and are rich in nutrients, while ginger and turmeric give a spicy, exotic flavor.
Shake with turmeric "Tea"
In a blender, mix one cup of plain coconut milk 3-4 ice cubes, half a teaspoon of turmeric, one teaspoon of coconut oil, a pinch of vanilla, a teaspoon of cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and cardamom. Spices in this recipe are great for inflammatory conditions.
Lightweight and easy smoothie with turmeric
Combine a teaspoon of turmeric powder with half a lettuce, three carrots, a cucumber and a lemon without peel in blender. This "liquid salad" is a lightweight version and is excellent for cleansing the system. It is ideal to detoxify the liver.
