The phases of the Moon are the continuous changes in its appearance and illumination as a result of its different positions relative to the Sun and the Earth that illuminate it. The interval between two consecutive identical phases is 29.5 days and is called the synodic period.
The four phases of the Moon are:
New Moon - The Moon is with the dark side facing the Earth. It cannot be seen because it is between the Earth and the Sun.
First Quarter - the right half of the lunar surface is illuminated.
Full Moon - the Earth is between the Moon and the Sun. The entire lunar disk is visible.
Last Quarter - the left half of the lunar surface is illuminated.
Times are in EET (Bulgarian time).
