The fact that AquaSource Collagen Plus has become one of our favorite products does not surprise us. Imagine a body with very dry and thin skin, with small atrophied muscles, fragile fragile bones and nails. These are just some of the signs that can be seen in a person with collagen deficiency (of course, there may be other reasons).
No wonder the cosmetics industry adds collagen to many of the moisturizing face creams - no one wants to look older than it is!
Here are some of the promises made by the cosmetics industry to those using collagen-enriched creams:
• increase the elasticity of the skin;
• reduce wrinkles;
• protect against the harmful effects of ultraviolet rays;
• prevent early signs of aging;
• protect the face's skin from rust.
And so ... The sad truth is that local administration of collagen does not work - the collagen molecule is too large to be absorbed through the skin. Instead, we must rely on our body to synthesize it from the nutrients in the diet, but also to take collagen in the form of capsules or powdered form.
Collagen is the protein most abundant in our body - more than 25% of the protein in the human body is collagen. This structural protein is the glue that holds all the elements of the body in one. It gives shape, strength and integrity to tissues and organs, holding everything in its place. We need it everywhere in the body.
Our skin, nails and hair need it; it is also part of the stem cells supporting the growth of new hair. Joints, tendons, ligaments, muscles and bones need a lot of collagen; the tendons are 80% collagen.
The intestines also rely heavily on the presence of collagen. Some people add bone broth to their diet because the amino acids contained in them are necessary for the production of collagen.
Naturalizers often recommend collagen to people who are exposed to stress or have had physical trauma, or have digestive problems or discomfort. Its use is also recommended after surgery because of its richness of amino acids glycine and proline needed in the healing process.
Collagen is becoming more and more popular among athletes as it contributes to the growth and recovery of muscles. Other parts of the body where it is particularly necessary are the eyes, the heart and the brain.
Hyaluronic acid (HCA) is another extremely popular ingredient in the cosmetics industry, and is fully justified. This is naturally occurring in the human body polysaccharide (which is a carbohydrate). Thanks to its jelly-like construction, it can hold up to 1,000 times its own weight of water and just like collagen, our body produces it daily. Large amounts of HA are found in the extracellular spaces of the skin, that is, between the skin cells. Here it provides the moisture and fluffy skin of children and young people. It also contributes to the tight elastic skin.
The moisture that HK contributes to maintains youthful appearance of the skin, but this is not the only benefit. HK is also a major component of synovial fluid that reduces friction between joint cartilage and acts as a shock absorber and can thus be helpful in stiffness and joint discomfort and other similar conditions.
Hyaluronic acid is also found in the eyes where it acts as a lubricant, and this can be especially beneficial for people suffering from dry eyes.
Our bodies produce it daily, just like collagen. And, of course, we use it, so we have to continue to produce it to fill our stocks as long as we have to constantly fill the fridge and pantry stores. As the age progresses, the rate of synthesis decreases, and even to the thirtieth year, some begin to feel a difference in texture and skin quality. By the fortieth year we usually only synthesize about half of the amount we produced at 18, so any outside assistance would be beneficial.
AquaSource uses only the highest quality collagen from natural sources.
